In the previous blog on “Half-life,” I showed that maintaining your skills (and knowledge) is quite a challenge. And so you would have to spend many hours just to stay up-to-date. Added to that are the new skills to be developed. But…..there is hope!
Large part of learning new skills fortunately happens during the work itself. Pffff, happy!
You may be familiar with the 70:20:10 model (Lombard & Eichinger,1996). And although it receives some criticism for such things as the output of the underlying research, it is still a widely adopted model.
The 70:20:10 model
The 70:20:10 learning model can help keep up with developments and is focused on achieving goals and improving performance.
It is divided as follows; although it is situation dependent, the numbers are not “set in concrete” and this model fits precisely in rapidly changing environments:
Thus, the focus (90%) is on PRACTICAL learning.
