Why do women work part-time more often than men?
As a woman working 36 hours a week myself, I am aware of the choices and challenges many women face in the job market. We are all ready for change, yet it is not as easy as it seems.
Research shows that the main reason for part-time work among women is family responsibilities. Women still spend an average of ten hours a week more on housework and children than men.
Suppose we were to equalize this, it could generate economic growth of over 100 billion euros. But this imbalance is not so easy to solve, there is a stigma on working mothers and child care is almost unaffordable.
Nevertheless, we need to make this problem negotiable, because only together can we bring about change. Let me know in the comments what you would like to see different!
